Glycogen is our storage form of carbohydrates. In order to make glycogen, we have to drink more water also. So oftentimes you're more thirsty and I've had athletes freaking out that their P is still dark yellow or they're so thirsty and they're not peeing. But honestly that helps because you have all this extra fluid on board to help with hydration during your marathon. It's like a win-win.
