In Bakersfield there's a very distinctive delineation between the right side of the tracks and the wrong side. And yeah, we were very firmly on the wrong side of the track where we were continually having to shoe away drug dealers and prostitutes off of our front steps. I got so angry because of the drug traffic out of that payphone that I probably with hedge clippers cut off the receiver at least 15 times and they just kept on replacing it. There was a diehard group of probably 200 people in Bakersfield that loved what we were doing. But yeah, you know, they go to the movies three or four times a year and it just wasn't sustainable for us.
