How to Create a Great Working Environment

The way we structure software teams is just completely broken. What you really need is somebody whose role is to understand that stuff. Every team needs an architect, almost no teams do. So yeah, you're really fighting this on so many levels. But if you can find a place where, you know, the person you'd be reporting to actually understands this and cares about it and can communicate effectively, it can really pay off.
