When I plug a light into an outlet, current is the movement of electrons. What happens in order to make a light bulb light up? You have a dam somewhere. And as it spins, then the electrons will go up and down 60 times a second. So what you're doing is you're creating energizing. It's just energetic. The same electrons that were there when they built your house are still there.
