So in my athletes now, I actually discourage them from chasing a very, very high level ofketones because that usually reflects oxaloacetate depletion. And if you have a very low blood sugar level, then your body through gluconeogenesis will actually make more blood sugar to compensate for the lack of oxalo acetate. That means all of these ketones that you're producing, they have trouble entering the Krebs cycle so they accumulate.
