The Problem With Buddhism Is Self-Centeredness
Buddhism says self-centeredness is the problem with this basic Buddhism. No practice is complete without the motivation of altruism. Santi Diva has two stages of that, and I think the first stage is a brilliant description of how to do the metabarpment. The first stage is sameness of self and other. All equally experienced suffering and happiness. I should look after them as I do myself. And then later, one very good one, second basic. When happiness is liked by me and others equally, what is so special about me that I strive after happiness only for myself? It's quite easy, quite simply, destroy it.
