Cold Calling in the Classroom

I'm a big fan of cold calling because for years I used to like self selection of if you nearly aren't you can hand up my cheese from that pool and again only benefited the quickest. If we are truly going to use education to transform lives then only benefiting the quickest doesn't help essentially so stuff like cold calling which is where you can still put your hand up and you still want to answer but it means I'm just not limited to only that pool of students I can ask anyone. It helps more students pay attention knowing that they might be caught on to give an answer so they're thinking harder, doing more retrieval.
