The Pros and Cons of Dismissive Avoidant Attachment
Parents with a dismissive avoidant attachment style may have difficulty connecting emotionally with their child as they tend to avoid emotional expression. They may not offer comfort when their child is upset or seems kind of disinterested in their child's feelings. Fearful avoidance has a simultaneous desire for closeness and distance. It can impact parents' ability to form healthy, secure relationships with their kids.
