The Effects of Aerobic Exercise on Heart Rate
In fact, from again, all the reading that I've done, the effects, the benefits are really only for aerobic and not anaerobic exercise. So when you're doing just 10 reps of some 20 pound bicep curls, it's unlikely that you're raising your heart rate at that sustained level. You know, as a caveat to that, there are certainly forms of circuit training where you're going very quickly from one exercise to another. That is leading to sustained levels of heart rate at about 75 to 85% of your maximum heart rate. And that for sure has that same effect. But just sitting around doing the occasional bicep curl isn't going to do it.
