The Biggest Bubble of Poison Gas

A giant bubble of poison gas spills over the edge of a lake and pours down a hill at 50 miles an hour, killing 17 hundred people. The bubbles are heavier than air so they don't just dissipate into the atmosphere but actually roll along the landscape. A more primitive people would have been terrified by this surge of pure corruption that killed everyone in their villages. Whole cultures and religions have probably been born out of stuff like this. But as human beings, you know, we can't exist in a world that we can't comprehend. So we will find explanations periit to give ourselves some sense that the environment is not completely chaotic or capricious.
