Silence is an important part of negotiation. We view silence as awkward and uncomfortable so we move in to fill that air space because those silences to most of us feel very very weird and very very uncomfortable. If we can learn to be comfortable with that that silence and that quiet we can actually gain a great deal of information but it comes from very early stages if you go to almost any societal gatheringAny gathering of two or more people there is a an ebb and flow to the conversation in which there are very few pauses It's interesting okay so it it was really my first experience many years ago with the value of silence as a negotiating tool.
