The science of learning and learner independence stuff was the best way to go. We had been doing some initial research into the science of learning in australia, at least,. it seemed that the science oflearning was quite in its infancy. And we were aware that our canterpalats in the yukai and so on, were doing some exciting things in this area. So i guess it was a range of different pathways that began to come together. You are right, there were a number of different ways we could have approached this, but this seemed to really suit both their learners.
