Wic Is Great and Dispiriting at the Same Time
Wic is great and dispiriting at the same time. The number of academics who are successfully able to communicate with the rest of the world is small. We all have ideas that are of value to somebody else, and just lecturing them is not the only way to get em out there. I was really struck by what an elegant way it is tocommunicate insights that you have gleaned from your scholarship in a way that is just so readily accessible. To someone who didn't start reading the book for that reason to begin with, and doesn't create friction for the reader as they're reading it.
