50% of patients have de-novo mutations of COAL 3A1. So a pregnant woman has a 50% chance of passing it on to her children. In the New England Journal of Medicine article 69 patients underwent vascular surgery and 28 of those patients died, 28 of 69 patients died of vascular immunitis.
