I think we have an ethical imperative to acknowledge the massive role of the people and the massive role that luck plays in our lives. And I think we should want to cancel the most egregious differences in good and bad luck between people. We're immensely lucky, but with that comes a certain responsibility, but also opportunity to spread the luck around. It's not to say that capitalism is wrong; some asymmetries may in fact be the optimal way to encourage people's creativity and innovation.
