If you are experiencing some kind of negative emotion, the most important thing to do is don't go towards the emotional coping mechanism. Freud came up with this concept and it has been tested. Language can substitute for action. 100%. We see it time and time again in our coaching program. We see it in psychotherapy. A lot of people don't sign up for this stuff because they're like, I don't understand how talking about it makes any difference. The problem still exists.
