Monitoring Your Progress Is Important

Psychological bulletin: The more often you monitor your progress to towards a goal, the more likely you are to be successful. A study found that people who monitored their weight were more likely to lose weight, but not necessarily to improve their diets. So tracking your progress does keep you motivated, as long as the progress continues. But what happens when progress doesn't continue? That's wat gato. It may be worth while to switch your monitoring to the behavior itself - such as what you eat or how long you exrcise. These are things that you can control and they help you stay on track.
