How to Overcome Messenger Bias
The more you talk, the less confident I feel in your competency. Over-communicating or not bringing enough humanity into the conversation are ways that we can sometimes step on our own feet. When you're communicating as a messenger, you can have a lot of knowledge, but if it's hard for people to get that from you, then you won't be seen as a repository. It's all information, no personality. And so people say, why that guy is really, really smart, but I don't like him? and that's very possible.
