The Rise of the Feminist Woman in the 1970s
The Mary Tyler Moore Show was one of the highest-rated TV shows that ushered in the 70s. The series would go on to win numerous awards, including 29 Emmys and a Peabody Award for quote: "You might just make it ever wrong" In 1972, Cosmo Magazine revealed the first nude male centerfold featuring a smiling and very furry, Bert Reynolds. That same year Mizz magazine chose a very telling image for its inaugural issue - Wonder Woman. This Wonder Woman held a job outside the house, but she still should have full burden of homemaking. It was an image Madison Avenue quickly co-opted.
