Many people who have obstructive sleep apnia are primarily mouth breathers, and that is a less efficient way to breathe. Air is more efficiently filtered and warmed through your nose than it is through your mouth. There's a field called mio functional therapy which works on training people to use their oral muscles and tongues to more efficiently breathe.
