Is There an Oral Tradition That Says Mary Was Assumed to Heaven?
Epiphanius was bishop of solomus in the end of the fourth century. He talks about investigating what happened to mary at the end of her life when he comes up. But i find it odd that epiphanius is aware of a debate about mary's end at all. And this isn't even a debate over how she died, but whether she died. This would mean people had an understanding that god was providentially, or even supernaturally, involved in theend of her life.
