The mission should specify long term transfer goals both within disciplines and some that cut across. These essential questions would spiral through the curriculum. They provide the intellectual through lines that ensure coherence from grade to grade year to year. And then at the grade level, and in units of study we would have more specific and discrete knowledge and skill objectives.
