All 25 of those words are from germ manic origins, either old english or other germanic languages which have worked their way into modern English. At number forty two on our list, the word us s is the first non germanic word. It's actually an old french word that came into english. We really tend to use them to supplement our cor vocabulary, which is very small by comparison and dominated by germanic terms.
