What's So Beautiful About Winter?
Sally Kohn: I think what's beautiful about swimming is that the season kind of takes care of that variation. When you are in nature, you actually decrease your stress level for 20 minutes and this is shown by science. So when you go out into the forest or take a winter swim in the ocean, both will also reduce cortisol levels on an average daily basis. She says she prefers to have air temperature colder than water because it just seems less painful.
