The Paradox of Attention

There is this whole cycle where the iPhone has shown up, uninvited to change our entire world. There's plenty of data that shows has led to a dramatic dissatisfaction among young people about every element of their life. Most teenagers in America given a choice between having a car or having a smartphone would pick a smartphone. And so we have this paradox of attention that is going on. But the thing that’s important to understand is who gets to decide where our attention is going? The answer is someone who doesn't have your best interests at heart.
