The Dionysians and the Titanic and the Barbarian

The titanic and the barbaric were, in the last analysis, as necessary as the apollinian. And so these twin artistic forces depend on one another. The individual succumbed to the self oblivion of the dionysian states. Forgetting the precepts of apollo, excess revealed itself as truth. Contradiction, the bliss born of pain, spoke out from the very heart of nature.
