The Importance of Version Control in Teaching

When we worked on Osmos in 2007 2006-2007 we had we were using CVS so the idea is that when you're working on a piece of code or even a piece of art you might have a shared online repository. Every time someone works on a thing they can put a lock on it and then when you're done you check it back in. If there's conflicts you can figure out how to resolve the conflict right but basically everyone's working on the same code base so you're on the same page.
