The Importance of Specialization in Venture Capital

There's really no right way or one way to do venture capital. As the business has become a lot more competitive, what you're starting to see is that specialization is increasingly to norm. And so as a result, at Clier Perkins, we come back to this notion of having a major in-hire. We tend to make that decision based on what that right partner's domain experiences and how it maps to the opportunity.
