The team felt comfortable calling this a copede exascerbation that was caused by a pneumonia, but didn't feel like she really needed to be admitted. She ended up getting a course of anti biotics prescribed and was told how to use supplemental oxygen in case her symptoms got worse. In terms of thinking about the d dimer, the first thing that i think about is what is my pretest probability that she has pulmonar ambolism? And so we go back to our clinical stratification toolsadand i like the wells criteria for pulmonary ambolism.
