The Origin of the Indo European Language
When we look at all of the reconstructed words from the original indo european language, we get a picture of our linguistic ancestors just before they began to spread into europe and central asia around two thousand b c. In this episode, i am going to focus on some of the words which are generally accepted by all inda european linguists. Some of these words are the earliest versions of many of the words we in modern english. Even though they are relatively few in number, they represent a disproportionately large percentage of our everyday speech. Much like a child who learns a few basic words as a child and then adds more words to his or her vocabulary throughout life. Over time
