One of my teachers like struggled with being addicted to potato chips. He went to his guru and he asked him, how do I overcome this? This is the one thing that I can't break. And what his teacher told him was actually kind of bizarre. He said, don't resist the craving at all. Just eat potato chips with full awareness. Anytime you want a potato chip, eat it. That's literally what monks do. They don't practice restraining themselves. What they really practice is cultivating awareness.
