The First 800 Pound, 400 Kilogram Gorilla
The first brand that's on the top rung of the ladder, they're going to get a hell of a lot more of the market share than number two. If you think about coke versus pepsy, if you think about google versus bing, all these top brands are going to have a lot bigger market share than the second rung on that ladder. Anything that came on after it matter how much money they're putting into it or how good their product is, it's very hard to dislodge the first 800 pound gorilla that is at the top of the ladder.
