The Love of the Craftsman Is a Sublimation of Our Will to Power
Diotoma argues that the love of the craftsman, for his craft, is really a desire to attain wisdom. This is also that's a sublimation. It's driven by the same mediating force of aros, or the love ofthe beautiful. For human beings are willing to have their own feet and hands cut off if they think that those parts of themselves are diseased. Am it can't be understood in this way? The desire to bond with another human being cannot be explained as simply the desire to restore an original unity.
