The First Jhana
During this exercise, I expect you to just zone out and forget what you were doing. The nature of this kind of experience is that it comes in waves. One fellow told me that for him it felt like somebody who had reached and grabbed the top of his head and pulled it upward. Something you'll notice about the first jhana is that your posture tends to get really good spontaneously. You feel like sitting up straight. There's a lot of energy in the body that allows you to sit up straight. So that becomes interesting.
