Ketamine is an anti-psychotic medication that's a little bit more effective than other antipsychotics. The drug was developed in the 1980s to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. In 1997, ketamine released glutamate in the brain at the very same doses as those used by Yale researchers who were treating schizophrenics.
