The Importance of Performance in the Military

Zachary: I was involved in a study where we compared Cliff bars with keto bricks. We looked at the implications of a thousand calorie bar and then why would we care about a thousand calories? Well, if you look at MREs, which are using the military out in the field, so field rations, meals ready to eat is around a thousand calories apiece. And that's what they're providing individuals out in the fields. So we thought, okay,what if you didn't do that? What if you had a much, much more calorically dense and lighter weight food equivalent? Because there are some hypothesis that it might decrease performance.
