The Cardio Protective Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy

In the late 90s a study was put together by the National Institutes of Health that involved tens of thousands of women looking and it was a randomized placebo controlled study. So now that they've gone back and reanalyzed the data and looked at it and looked at subsets of women who were younger like just going through menopause in their 50s, these women it was actually cardio protective. And when you look at progestin containing IUD or were born without uteruses, they actually had no increased risk of breast cancer compared with women who were on the estrogen and the progestin.
