The Importance of Testing in Education

LZ Granderson: Testing is not just an evaluative tool, but that it is fundamentally a pedagogical tool. He says students can often take the most important tests of their life based on what they see in texts like Jane Austen or C.S. Lewis and Aquinas. LZ: We have this hyper utilitarian way of thinking about how young people process these tests. "You don't need mystery. You just need to know it's on the test," he says.
