"If I do my job and I bring you a solution that you asked for, then why should I be scared about telling you what's at cost?" he asks. "I'm not charging you 2X. I'm giving you a fair deal for the solution that we agreed upon." He says sales reps are afraid to put a 10K price in front of an exec or CFO because they don't know how it will affect their budget. But if someone is willing to take your quote seriously, 'You've earned the right to be here'
