I think a lot of it just sort of came organically. There is I do have one design theory that I can discuss that helps make some of the decisions but things like the chess boss, some stuff just sort of seemed obvious once we had this rhythm mechanicWe're like, okay, why you know, most of the enemies are moving in very predictable patterns and so it felt to me like I was designing sort of chess enemies. And then also the pun for it deep blues. It's a play on deep blue which was the chess playing computer that was the first one to be a grandmaster.
