The History of Corinth

In 747 BC, the last Basilaeus, Telestes, was overthrown and killed by his own kinsmen. The Bacchiiii governed Corinth for most of the next century. They were a narrow oligarchy of prominent wealthy Oikwe. To ensure their exclusivity, the families married only among themselves. However, Corinth benefited from their leadership, developing into a unified state.
