So it sounds like what you're saying is that some people found that their experience of food hypersensitivity helped them to build resilience that they could use in other areas of your life and I I remember too from your researcher really one of the stories was about exactly that how how food sensitivities in people that coped well they found meaning and even though the food sensitivity overall was you know it's a negative thing in your life they found meaning in where there were positive aspects so it sounds like from what you're saying is that ability to cope with uncertainty was something meaningful that people were they were able to apply that and have a better life overall is that
Speaker 1
right? Yeah I would say that's that's what I heard from the participants it's like yes this was not a good situation like to have a food sensitivity allergy intolerance you have to plan ahead way more you may even have less energy just because of how foods may impact you and you have to deal with social situations where oftentimes food is involved so then it can sometimes become a negative experience so there's all these things that are going on that like you say they can be quite negative but many of the participants what they focused on or what they felt helped their well-being is to focus on some of the positives so they said you know if I can help someone else out that really helps me deal with this that I can have a positive impact even though this isn't a great diagnosis or thing that's happening to me if I can help out other people through either like advocacy like to say you know what we need to make sure that we are aware that for some people you know they can't they can't have like we have to be aware of the foods that we're serving at our social gatherings and things like that so just bringing the advocacy in or then education so to help out another person who might be earlier on in their journey with their food hypersensitivity so that yeah just being able to come alongside someone for some education some support they found that really meaningful and sometimes even just something simple to say you know now that I have to cook most of my food from scratch well you know that's not always a terrible thing because that's it's possibly you know better food that I'm actually eating and and I'm taking that time to cook for myself and my family and and things like that
