How Do Your Children Manage Christmas?
Nathan: It seems that within our family dynamic they know it's just something not to ask. They might think I've elected not to go when in fact I've been asked not to come. You keep wanting to protect them because you feel like this is your responsibility. This was my choice and I don't want them to be hurt by my choice. The narrative is look what you have done. You did something bad. And so you are playing into that narrative and you're also teaching your children something about avoidance.
