The Neuroprotective Effects of Different Types of Cognitive Demand

There's a lot of evidence now that says that either significant changes in your cognitive demand or cognitive stimulus are associated with significant changes in the trajectory of the structural function of your brain. So we talked about earlier how a brisk walking intervention significantly improved the size and structure of the hippocampus. We've seen similar things with dancing trials, randomized controlled trials of dancing versus circuit training. But then one of my favorite studies is this, where they looked at taxi drivers in London. And what they saw was that it takes two years to learn the knowledge.
