The Benefits of a Grip Bubble
The first thing I'd love to explore is this idea of a grip bubble. You're looking at effectively which part of your opponent's body is coming within grabbing range and you're focusing on attacking that piece first. The benefit here is this is not like boxing in the sense that in boxing, assuming we're both the same height and same arm reach, then it's like, I can't hit you. But as the passer, you have to close it. So when we get to the point that I'm just barely an arms reach of you, I have more option than you do. And that is such an important lesson for people who are struggling off of the bottom, which is understanding
