How to Be Politically Engaged at Work

If you work around other people and you get to decide at least partially how to do your job, politics is simply a fact of life. You can hate those soft spoken, extroverted people all you want, but they're gonna end up being your boss unless you recognize the value of political decision-making. As we've noted, the most important thing is to hear what isn't being said in an imperfect world. The way to do this is to establish relationships, to ask questions, to observe and to listen.
