You can track three data points to build your base for a goal. You could write down pages you wrote last month, word count and research time. Track the number of new email subscribers or followers on social media. Do the base first and then do the 1% win. The point is to get an accurate, honest picture of where you are right now so that you can fully appreciate where you end up.
