Anxiety means that the threat is not physically present to you at this very moment. It's simply that your amygdala is detecting a threat. Most of the things people are afraid of, where it's like a clinical disorder, they're actually imaginary in that they're coming from the thoughts they have about some situation or about themselves in a situation.
