The Origins of the Traversal Mechanics

We had a question from uh pajamas who said i'm actually curious about how they split the work between them like an o petri will be on point with respect to the programming physics but who designs what otherwise. One of the questions too i want to get to as well because i know um and he has to leave soon  and we've talked about this a lot, so one of the questions is why did you end up with hovering as the as the basic mechanic?
