Themesan and Thessalus adopted the ideas of Esclepeades in a radically simplified form. Galen is outraged to report that the Methodists believed anyone can learn to be a doctor in just a few months. One of the things that most annoys Galen about Methodism is their refusal to offer medical therapies that are tailored to each patient. This is another idea he finds in Hippocrates, in such texts as Ayers Waters Places.
